New Potatoes
Salad Turnips
Garlic
Walla Walla Onions
Broccoli
Baby Chard
Head Lettuce
Cucumbers

A nice well rounded box this week. Many things were used as is in salad or simply sauteed or roasted. I did make my favorite beans, greens and sausage using some incredible Italian Sausage from TLC Ranch that I purchased at the Mountain View Farmer's Market. TLC Ranch has organic ranch eggs and pasture raised beef, pork and lamb. I've gotten the eggs several times and I am always amazed at how sturdy they are. That seems strange to say, but the eggs have such integrity, not to mention how flavorful they are. Their Italian sausage is also worth trying. I am always cautious when I eat sausage since you never know what you might run into. I never have this problem with the sausage from TLC Ranch. I can eat it with abandon and that makes me happy!

Our head of broccoli, also known as "broklah" by my 2 year old daughter, was consumed quickly by the same daughter. When she saw me pull it out of the box she started chanting "broklah, broklah, broklah!". Of course we had it for dinner. She ate the florets and handed me the stem. It works for us.

Flavortop Nectarines
Suncrest Peaches
Dandy Dapple Pluots

If being covered in nectarine juice from elbows to knees is an indication of quality, these nectarines were first rate! I came home Thursday evening and started into a nice ripe nectarine. It was juicy and firm and after the first bite I was being asked to share. Each bite was better than the one before. One nectarine down. Ok, I'll cut another one, and another one, and another one. Four nectarines later, it was time to hose down my daughters who where now covered in nectarine juice. This photo, taken Friday morning, shows what was left of the 19 piece fruit CSA box I picked up Wednesday evening. I could have eaten a case of those nectarines.
